Dear Friends,

It is with anticipation that we share with you an exciting vision from your Sandpoint

Seventh-day Adventist Church for the coming year.

But, before we share this exciting vision, consider these words from Jesus in John 15:5

(NKJV)

“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much

fruit; for without Me, you can do nothing.”

Can you envision yourself as one of those branches intricately woven into the vine? If so,

you can see the importance of our vital connection to Christ. Without this vital link, our

capacity to bear fruit and fulfill God’s mission is non-existent. That’s why our vision for

2024 revolves around fortifying this vital connection, both with Christ and with one

another, through the transformative power of His Word.

Romans 12:5 (NKJV) further emphasizes how through Christ, we are each connected 1

together as one body of believers — that’s the true definition of a church. United in Christ

and through Christ! These biblical truths have led us to our overarching vision for 2024,

which is summarized in this statement: “Connecting every person to Christ and each

other through His Word.”

So what is the plan to accomplish this vision?

THE BIBLE COVER-TO-COVER

First, we want to extend a heartfelt invitation to every member to read the Bible cover to

cover in one year. Now, I know this challenge may seem daunting and that is why we

have laid out a path for you by creating a reading plan that accommodates various

schedules and preferences. You may want to break the weekly reading into equal

segments of approximately three chapters daily. On the other hand, you may only have

time to read just one chapter a day and catch up on the weekends. For others who want

to soak in the details, you may just focus on the weekly “Dive Deeper” stories from the

Bible. Which ever plan fits best with you, the goal remains the same — to foster a church

united in the exploration of God’s Word, growing closer to Jesus and each other.

DIVE DEEPER STUDY GUIDES

In tandem with the Bible reading plan, we are thrilled to introduce “Dive Deeper” study

guides. These study guides are thoughtfully aligned with the weekly bible reading, giving

special attention to one story in that reading each week. Here you have options as well.

You could just use the study guides for personal study or to get the most out of this

resource, we are designing the study guides to also be used in small groups that run for

13 weeks.

“So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.”

Your 2024 Challenge Awaits!

These small groups represent a key component to our vision: connecting with each other

around the Word of God, and as you will see, they are also a key part of our outreach

plan to connect our community to Christ. We would like to have enough small group

leaders and host sites that we could facilitate having every member experience a small

group and invite a neighbor or friend for one quarter in the year. To make this a reality,

we would like to have 10 groups each quarter, of 10-12 people. Whether you choose to

participate or not in the Dive Deeper small groups, rest assured that “Dive Deeper” study

guides will be made available to all members every quarter.

LIFE GROUPS

Expanding our vision further, we are excited to introduce “Life Groups” during our

Spring and Fall “Life Group” fairs. These activity-based groups focus on life activities

together — like a hiking group, sewing group, cooking group, biking, skiing, sledding,

gardening, or more… Whatever you like to do, you can make a life-group around it! These

groups last from 4 weeks to 12 weeks — and are member-run groups open to anyone in

the church or community. This can be a great way to get to know your neighbors or invite

your friends. If you have an idea for a “Life Group” you can begin applying to start a life-

group, January 6, 2024. Our life group fair will be held in March, but your application for

a group can help us help you plan. Keep your eyes tuned for more info about “Life

Groups”.

INTEGRATED WORSHP SERVICES

Lastly, our worship services will be seamlessly integrated with our Bible in a year

challenge. Each sermon will draw inspiration from the weekly readings, offering a rich

and well rounded experience in God’s Word for the entire church, which aligns with the

themes explored in our “Dive Deeper” small groups. We believe that connecting our

worship service together with the “Dive Deeper” Small Groups, gives a very natural way

for those in the community to transition from the small groups to explore these same

exciting stories at our weekly church services. Are you catching the vision?
