Myckal Morehouse
Pastor
Myckal Morehouse joined the Sandpoint Seventh-Day Adventist Church as the lead pastor in October 2022, following God’s call to Sandpoint after pastoring for fifteen years in Arizona and Oregon. His passion is connecting families to Jesus Christ through the preaching and teaching of God’s Word and the fellowship of God’s church. He loves the ministry, is energized in discipling Christians, and rejoices over the amazing church family here at Sandpoint!
Having earned a Master’s degree in Religion from Southern Adventist University, Myckal specialized in evangelism and global missions. Notably, his academic journey included completing a Master’s level Thesis focused on missions to Muslims in America.
In addition to his academic experience, Myckal also has practical experience in church growth and evangelism having traveled, preaching and teaching, in North America, Australia, and Europe in both universities and churches, helping many people to grasp an understanding of Bible prophecy, and gain insights into end-time events. He has been privileged to baptize hundreds of people, personally leading many of them to Christ. Myckal also has experience growing churches, and helping those he teaches to be more deeply rooted in the teachings of Scripture. His preaching style is engaging and conversational, yet deep in truth and full of the Spirit, anchoring the congregation in the unshakable foundation of scripture!
One intriguing aspect about Myckal is his unique name spelling, which often piques curiosity. He humorously explains, “My parents are the real authors of this strange spelling. In my mind there were only two reasons for this: First I assume they wanted their only son to have an original name, and second I think they wanted to make sure my name tag always started a conversation! Despite the strange spelling it’s pronounced just like the traditional Michael.”
Myckal is married to his wife, Delaney Morehouse, who is a trained and licensed Naturopathic physician. Together they have three children, Joshua, Abigail, and Zakari. They love the outdoors, love connecting with people, and love living and worshipping in the great state of Idaho.

Biography
Michael Lee is a Montana native who considers himself a life-long student. He loves learning and has often said that if he could be a professional student (and make a living that way), he would do it. Teaching seemed to be the next best thing. Michael received his bachelor's degree in Religion and Biblical Languages with a minor in Music from Walla Walla College. He immediately entered grad school at Walla Walla University (nee Walla Walla College) and finished his Master of Arts in Teaching. Since graduating, he has taught part time or full time in Thailand, Washington, Hawai`i, Montana, and Idaho and has worked in youth ministry or some form of administration in Washington, Montana, California, and Idaho
Michael's absolute favorite thing to do is spend time with his wife, Ada, and his 3 children, Andrew, Kaia, and Liam. His favorite things to do with his family (and also in his very rare alone-time) include: traveling, mission work, rock climbing, hiking, skiing, trampolining, reading, playing board games, visiting national parks, singing, playing ukulele, and eating.
Michael feels blessed to have the opportunity to teach at Sandpoint Junior Academy and lead/guide his incredible students not only to better themselves and learn more about the world around them, but to develop a personal and meaningful relationship with their Creator and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. It is the reason he got into teaching in the first place.
